What does HR1221W mean?
HR means high-rate. The battery delivers 21 W per cell (about 126 W per 12V battery) for 15 minutes to 1.67V per cell, which is how UPS makers specify runtime.
How is it different from a standard 12V 5Ah battery?
Both have the same footprint, but the HR1221W is built for short, high-power discharges. For a UPS, choose the HR1221W. For alarm panels and low-current standby, a standard 12V 5Ah is fine.
Will it fit my UPS?
It measures 90 x 70 mm and is 107 mm tall, with T1 or T2 terminals. Check the battery label in your UPS. If it says HR1221W or 12V 5Ah in this size, it should fit.
What charger settings should I use?
Float charge at 13.60–13.80V at 25°C with a maximum charging current of 1.68A. Most UPS units handle this automatically.
How long will it last?
The design floating life is 5 years at 25°C. Server rooms running warm will shorten this, so keep the UPS in a cool, ventilated space.
What does the warranty cover?
Standby (backup) use only, where the battery sits on float charge and discharges during power failures. UPS use is covered.
