Overview

When a fire panel, UPS string or telecom cabinet needs the longest possible standby from a standard-size battery, the Newstar 12V 22Ah delivers. It fits the same 181 x 77 x 167 mm space as a 12V 18Ah and gives about 22% more capacity, extending backup time without a new enclosure or bracket.

M5 bolt-on terminals give a secure, low-resistance connection for high currents. Its low 12 mΩ internal resistance and 300A maximum discharge current carry heavy loads the moment the mains drops. Two in series make a 24V supply for 24V fire panels. Its sealed AGM construction means no water top-ups and no routine checks. BAM supplies it wholesale to integrators, fire and security installers, MEP contractors and FM companies across the UAE and GCC.

Built for uptime, not for the shelf

What the 12V 22Ah means for your site, your project and your team.

Maximum backup, standard size

About 22% more capacity than a 12V 18Ah in the identical 181 x 77 x 167 mm size.

Secure bolted connection

M5 bolt-on terminals give a firmer, lower-resistance connection than push-on tabs.

Handles heavy loads

Low 12 mΩ internal resistance and 300A peak discharge carry high currents the instant the mains drops.

Ready off the shelf

Holds about 91% of its capacity after three months in storage, so stock goes out ready to work.

Frequently asked questions

Can't find your answer? Message our sales team on WhatsApp.

Should I choose the 18Ah, 20Ah or 22Ah?

All three share the same size and M5 terminals. Choose the 22Ah for the longest standby, or the 18Ah when your system's specification calls for 17Ah or 18Ah. Always match the capacity to your battery calculations.

Can I replace a 12V 18Ah with this battery?

Yes, in most cases. It has the same 181 x 77 x 167 mm size and terminals. Check that your charger and battery calculations allow for 22Ah.

Can I use two in series for a 24V system?

Yes. Two 12V 22Ah batteries in series give 24V 22Ah. Always replace both together, using batteries of the same model and age.

Which terminal does it have?

It comes with M5 bolt-on terminals, either T3 (bolt and nut) or T12 (threaded insert, tightened to 3.0 ± 0.6 N·m). Check which your cabling needs before ordering.

What charger settings should I use?

For standby use, float charge at 13.60–13.80V at 25°C with a maximum charging current of 6.6A.

What does the warranty cover?

Standby (backup) use only, where the battery sits on float charge and discharges during power failures. Cyclic use, such as golf trolleys, scooters or solar, is not covered.

Do you deliver outside the UAE?
